The Northern Bald Ibis in Morocco 2011

The Moroccan NBI population in Souss-Massa National Park has slightly increased over the least years and has now, in 2011 about 110 breeding pairs. Over the past 14 years, the species has been well protected and scientifically monitored in SMNP with the support of the SMNP authorities, RSPB and SEO. This has provided good knowledge about the breeding progress, use of foraging grounds and the overall dynamics of the population.
